Baguio city, we all know that Baguio city is known for its mild type of weather. That’s why it known the “Summer Capital of the Philippines”. Due to its high elevation. Baguio city is also a tourist attraction for everyone because of its placid climate.

But other people did not know that Baguio city is also a home for paranormal activities. A lot Philippine ghost stories came from Baguio city.

One of the Philippine ghost stories came from an abandoned hotel many years from now build in the grounds of Dominican hill. In this hotel you can only see now a destroyed bricks, vandalized walls, and his historic rooms. This is the “DIPLOMAT HOTEL”

Diplomat hotel is located at the Dominican hill, Baguio city. This place is believed haunted in the early 1900’s. It was build first by the Dominican friars from the American owners. But now, it is abandoned because of World War II.

In May 1911, the council of the Province of the Dominican Order voted to build a vacation house in Baguio city on a 17 hectare land they had acquired when the American authorities were encouraging people to come here. Actual work started in 1913 under Fr. Roque Ruano and the construction was inaugurated on May 23, 1915. To take advantage of the tax exemptions a school called Collegio Del Santissimo Rosario was opened in June 1915 but due to the small students want to enroll. The school closed in 1917, reverting the building to the original vacation residence sanitarium.

During World War II it was primary occupied by refugees. Later the Japanese Army Liberation Forces had to bomb out the refugees from the building. The five direct hits left very wide-ranging damage and for a time it was left unrepaired. Renovation was started in 1947 and completed in 1948 with most of its pre-war grandeur and beauty restored.

In 1973, Diplomats Hotels, Inc. acquired ownership, remodel the interior into a 33 bedroom hotel with new facilities, but retained the unique and distinct character of the Dominican Hill. Starting when the hotel opened there where many guest where leaving because, of the emergent ghost to their rooms. They said that there where terrifying voices they hear in the hallway of the hotel every midnight. Even if it is morning or nightfall. There where bell boy and clerks saying that they are seeing a floating priest with black dress and headless. Sometimes they also see nuns carrying their head with a platter.

In the 80's the hotel ceased operations due to the death of one of its majority stockholders. Until now it is a mystery how one of the majority stockholders died. Plans are underway to develop this historical religious landmark into a tourist resort."

Until now, there are many people leaving beside the Dominican hill. They said until now they can hear a terrifying voices and screams inside the hotel. The houses beside the hotel you can see crosses painted on their doors and windows and the whole neighborhood kept shut when the darkness falls.
